Mr. Mahesh Palamuttath is a young, tech-savvy librarian and information specialist with over 5 years of focused IT experience. His expertise includes Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), Open-Source, and Windows systems, as well as proficiency in WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Apache Web Server, MariaDB/MySQL, PHP, Javascript, XML, HTML, CSS, Web Security, CPanel, Shell Scripting, Tomcat, Koha ILS, DSpace, Vufind, VirtualBox, and more.
He worked as an assistant librarian at GEMS Arts & Science College in Ramapuram, Malappuram, Kerala for a year. Currently, he is employed as a librarian at the East Campus of Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) in Thevara, Ernakulam, Kerala.
With a B.A. degree in history from the University of Calicut in 2014 and a Master’s in library and information science from the same institution in 2018, he possesses a strong academic background.
Apart from his professional work, he enjoys staying connected with fellow professionals, engaging in conversations to expand his knowledge. He focuses on the open-source and open access movements in libraries, actively supporting the Koha and DSpace software systems for librarianship, cataloging, data management, and resource sharing.
