The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a youth program launched by the Government of India on September 24, 1969 on the birth centenary of the Father of Nation, to promote democratic living and selfless service. As a permanent initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, NSS encourages students to develop an appreciation for diverse perspectives and extend their consideration towards all living beings. Sacred Heart College’s NSS Unit 31 actively upholds the motto of “Not Me But You,” emphasizing the importance of selflessness and the interconnectedness of individual and societal welfare. The NSS volunteers of Sacred Heart College’s East Campus embody the essence of selfless service through their diverse range of activities. These dedicated individuals actively engage in projects that aim to uplift the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society.
